Sarah Boyack, ex-Scottish Minister, representative of the Scottish Labour Party:
2005-02-11
- „Hungary’s admission to the European Union has opened new opportunities not only in economic, but also in cultural and social terms. A believe that there are several similarities between Edinburgh and Budapest. One of the most beautiful bridges over the Danube was designed by a Scottish designer. I hope that this bridge can be the symbol of a long-lasting, close contact between the two countries in the future.”

János Kóka, Minister of Economy and Transport:
2007-12-22
- „Wonderful landscape, castles hiding the secrets of elder days, forgotten centuries. Tradition is not a fashionable thing in the shop window, but an essential part of everyday life. Scottish people are very sociable, open and friendly. I love single malt whisky. I visited the distillery of Oban, which can be compared to the noblest traditions of vinification. I liked the excursions the most, near Firth of Forth and Loch Ness. Once my eleven-year-old daughter and I ran up to a hill and were chasing sheep. I have never felt so free since I am a minister.”

-„I was glad to hear how important it is for some people in Scotland to keep and share the values of Hungarian culture. We should all acknowledge the activity of those people, including the Albannach Scottish Cultural Society, who work hard to achieve their goals.”
