Hungarian filmstar at the Edinburgh Fringe!

A Hungarian play in the original language has been featured for the first time at this year’s 60th Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Hungarian actor Péter Kálloy Molnár performed the one-man piece “Nooky, Man in the Matchbox” at St. Mark’s Unitarian Church next to Edinburgh Castle.

The Day of a Hundred Smiles

„Mum, who are these men in skirts with the bags?” whispered one of the boys, in a slightly frightened voice. And the question was appropriate. It is quite unusual that the visitors of a children’s hospital wear traditional Scottish clothes. The first charity event of Albannach was called the Day of a Hundred Smiles. We took one hundred presents and gave them to the children staying in the children’s hospital of Madarász Street.

Brian Ó hEadhra’s concert in Budapest

The lecture hall of the Art Gallery was almost full on 16 June, when the Scottish star, Brian Ó hEadhra gave an exclusive, free concert, organized by the Albannach Scottish Cultural Society. The popular singer and his friend arrived from Inverness, invited by Albannach. The two Celts had a great time in Hungary, as they themselves put it: This is remek!
